- If you’re unable to work because you’re taking care of a sick or quarantined relative with COVID-19, you can file a Paid Family Leave (PFL) claim, according to EDD.
Californians whose hours have been reduced by their employer or who have lost their job due to their employer shutting down operations, can file an Unemployment Insurance (UI) claim.
GENERAL COVID-19 HEALTH INFORMATION
Immigrant Families: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently posted an alert clarifying that it will not consider testing, treatment, or preventive care (including vaccines if a vaccine becomes available) related to COVID-19 in a public charge inadmissibility determination, even if the health care services are covered by Medicaid. More information about current programs immigrant families can access and whether they will count in a public charge determination can be found on the Protecting Immigrant Families website.
